Eddie Hearn, promoter for Savannah Marshall, is working hard to make a unification clash with two-time Olympic gold medal winner Claressa Shields. On Saturday night at Copper Box Arena in London, Marshall became the first woman to stop Maria Lindberg in 29 fights as she retained her WBO middleweight world title with a third round knockout.
Savannah Marshall made short work of Maria Lindberg in the first defense of her WBO middleweight title as she knocked the veteran Swedish boxer in the third round, before calling out Claressa Shields who she says is not interested in facing her.
Savannah Marshall believes her late stand-in opponent Maria Lindberg will prove to be a tougher assignment than her original opponent Femke Hermans when they meet for the WBO Middleweight World Title tonight, live on Sky Sports in the UK and on DAZN in the U.S. and more than 200 countries and territories.

Conor Benn aims to continue his steady progression from prospect to contender. The second-generation boxer takes his next step up in class, as he faces Canada’s Samuel Vargas in a scheduled 10-round regional welterweight title fight. Benn and Vargas both made weight for their main event, which takes place Saturday evening live on Sky Sports in the U.K. and DAZN in the U.S. from Copper Box Arena in Hackney Wick, London, England.
Savannah Marshall will now defend her WBO middleweight title against four-time world title challenger Maria Lindberg this weekend. The fight takes place on the undercard of Conor Benn’s clash with Samuel Vargas at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday, live on Sky Sports and DAZN.
Undisputed junior middleweight champion Claressa Shields, who also holds middleweight belts, wants to face career rival Savannah Marshall as chief support to the heavyweight unification between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury - which is being targeted for a date in July.
Savannah Marshall will make the first defence of her WBO Middleweight World Title against former World Champion Femke Hermans on Saturday April 10, live on Sky Sports in the UK and on DAZN in the U.S. and more than 200 countries and territories.
