Savannah Marshall feels she has ‘rattled Hannah Rankin’s cage’ ahead of their highly-anticipated world title showdown this weekend.

Undefeated Marshall (8-0, 6 KOs) takes on Rankin (9-4, 2 KOs) for the vacant WBO middleweight title on the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora undercard on Saturday, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN.

The two women took part in their press conference on Thursday, and they both made it clear how confident they were heading into the fight.

Marshall said: “I wanted the fight to happen. I rattled Hannah’s cage, and now the fight is on. I’m expecting a tough fight from Hannah. She has loads of heart and won’t stand there with her hands down, but I’ve trained for months for this.

“I’m very confident in my ability, and I know I’ll be a world champion. The weight is no problem for me. I feel comfortable and a lot sharper at this weight. I’m very excited, and if the stoppage comes, it comes.”

Rankin said: “We’ll see on Saturday if she sinks or swims. I don’t think she can swim. It’s going to be a war on Saturday.

“I can’t wait for it. I’m pumped up and ready to go. I’m excited to get in there and showcase what I can do. I’ve had a much higher experience in the professional game, Savannah hasn’t had those tests yet.”
