Sandy Ryan: record, next fight and profile →
ORLANDO – The official decision was just as unbelievable hours later to Sandy Ryan as when her dreams were crushed in real time. What should have been a clear win to unify three titles instead saw England’s Ryan settle for a questionable ten-round, split decision draw versus lineal, WBC and WBO welterweight champion Jessica McCaskill. Judge Mike Ross had it 96-94

No winner came from the lineal, WBA, WBC and WBO 147-pound championship unification bout between Chicago’s Jessica McCaskill and England’s Sandy Ryan after ten rounds. Judge Mark Streisand (97-93) drew a chorus of boos with his wide card in favor of McCaskill. Judge Mike Ross (96-94) scored in favor of Ryan. Barry Lindenman (95-95) awarded five rounds apiece to McCaskill and Ryan to produce a split decision draw in their DAZN-aired bout Saturday from Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida
Sandy Ryan knows from personal experience to never judge an opponent by one bad performance. The reigning WBO welterweight titlist has sought to challenge lineal 147-pound champ Jessica McCaskill for quite some time. That desire came long before Ryan claimed a belt of her own and predated McCaskill’s points loss to undisputed junior welterweight queen Chantelle Cameron last November 5 in Abu Dhabi.
