Sandor Martin: record, next fight and profile →
Sandor Martin received the encore he deserved following the biggest win of his career to date. The next step is now a world title. The streaking Spaniard has set his sights on the most notable names and talent in the junior welterweight division following his latest win, a ten-round virtual shutout of Jose Felix Jr. on April 1

Sandor Martin continues to ride high off his career-best win. The streaking contender from Barcelona enjoyed a hero’s welcome home in the form of a dominant, ten-round win over Jose Felix in their junior welterweight bout Friday evening from Palau Olímpic Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona, Spain. Judges Luigi Boscarelli (100-90), Karoline Outz (99-91) and Salvador Salva (100-90) all scored in favor of Martin, who maximized the momentum gained from his brilliant upset win over Mikey Garcia last October in Fresno, California.

Both boxers weighed 139.3 pounds for their scheduled ten-round junior welterweight fight, which headlines a DAZN telecast Friday evening (local time) from Palau Olímpic Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona, Spain.

Matchroom Boxing will return to the Palau Olímpic Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona, Spain on Friday 1 April for a huge night of action topped by Sandor Martin taking on Jose Felix for the WBA International Super-Lightweight Title, live on DAZN. Following his sensational victory over Mikey Garcia in October last year – Barcelona’s Martin (39-2, 13 KOs), is set for a homecoming event against the all-action, hard hitting Felix (39-5-1, 30 KOs). In what was arguably one of the biggest wins in Spanish boxing history, Sandor Martin will be looking to maintain momentum towards a World Title shot against the dangerous Mexican.
Super lightweight Sandor Martin (39-2) will headline the first Matchroom show of the year in Barcelona, Spain on April 1, reports Espabox. No opponent is named. Also on the bill could be featherweight Samuel Carmona (6-0) and super featherweight Moussa Gholam (19-0). The show is not yet announced by Matchroom.
By Lyle Fitzsimmons - It wasn’t Mikey Garcia’s first dalliance with inactivity. In fact, the California-born stylist and former four-division title claimant was no stranger to long stretches on the shelf – having taken a 30-month pause from January 2014 to July 2016 before locking down the back half of his jewelry quartet with wins over Dejan Zlaticanin and Sergey Lipinets.
Regis Prograis is still smarting over missing out on what would have been a once-in-a-career opportunity. For a time the Houston-based southpaw was involved in serious discussions to fight four-division champion Mikey Garcia. But Garcia decided to take a tune-up fight against unheralded Spaniard contender Sandor Martin this past October, only to lose by stunning majority decision: one judge had it a draw, while two others had Martin up 97-93.
