Victorian veteran Sam Soliman displayed the savvy accumulated through a 15-year professional boxing to outpoint Garth Wood on Sunday.

Former Contender USA star Sam Soliman (40-11, 17 KO’s) is looking to extend his unbeaten run to six bouts when he faces Australian winner Garth Wood on February 19th at the Olympic Park Sports Centre in Homebush, New South Wales.

An interesting crossroads battle has been booked for February 19 in Sydney. Veteran middleweight Sam Soliman (40-11, 17KOs) will face Garth Wood (10-2-1, 6KOs). The two fighters have had rivalries with the same man, Anthony Mundine. Soliman lost three times to Mundine, while Garth scored a shocking knockout over Mundine in the fifth round of their December 2010 clash, but then dropped a decision in their rematch.

Melbourne Pavilion in Flemington, Victoria, Australia - In an IBF middleweight eliminator, Sam Soliman (40-11, 17KOs), ranked at 5, won a twelve round unanimous decision over Eromosele Albert (24-6-1, 12KOs), ranked at 13. The scores were 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112. Soliman on a five fight win streak since losing a decision to Anthony Mundine in 2008. Albert loses his second in a row, after dropping a decision to IBF champion Daniel Geale in August.

The weights are in for Thursday's big Fox Sports televised show at the Melbourne Pavilion, in Flemington, Victoria, Australia.

Rising middleweight Peter Quillin will face former two-time world title challenger Sam Soliman in the second half of a four-man tournament to determine the mandatory challenger for IBF champ Daniel Geale of Australia.

There is an IBF middleweight eliminator on the table between Sam Soliman (39-11, 17KOs) and Cory Spinks (38-6, 11KOs). Spinks is mulling over a move to middleweight or to remain at 154, but the fight appears close. Both have been inactive over the last few years. Soliman has only fought four times since a 2008 decision loss to Anthony Mundine, while has been in the same category with four fights since a 2008 decision loss to Verno Phillips. The winner of Spinks-Soliman would face the winner of IBO champion Osumanu Adama and Roman Karmazin.

Former IBF middleweight champ Sebastian Sylvester might take a different route on his way back to the top. Sylvester was selected for a planned IBF tournament where Sebastian was going to be matched against Sam Soliman. Sylvester is now the official challenger for EBU ruler Darren Barker, who of course is in line to take on superstar Sergio Martinez on October 1 and thus might relinquish the title. Sebastian would then get a fight against the highest available challenger for the vacant title.

The IBF has put the finishing touches on a planned middleweight tournament to name a mandatory challenger to their IBF champion. Former IBF middleweight champ Sebastian Sylvester will take on Sam Soliman in one eliminator, and former 154-pound champ Roman Karmazin will face Osumanu Adama in the second eliminator. The winners of both eliminators will face each other, and the overall winner becomes the mandatory challenger for champion Daniel Geale. Soliman was first set to fight Benjamin Simon but that is apparently history by now. Sylvester vs Soliman will go ahead sometime during the early fall.

In the history of professional boxing there has never been a division as much dominated by German fighters as the middleweight right now. With Felix Sturm (WBA), Sebastian Sylvester (IBF) and Sebastian Zbik (WBC) there are three reigning world middleweight champions from Germany, and a fourth man is only waiting for his chance to get a shot at a title: IBF intercontinental champion Benjamin Simon will face Australia’s "King“ Sam Soliman on April 1st in Berlin in an IBF Elimination fight for the no. 2 spot and a possible shot against Sylvester.
