Two-time former world champion Orlando “Siri” Salido will be very interested in tonight’s fight in Las Vegas when old friend WBO junior lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko takes on Nicholas Walters in the main event at the Cosmopolitan.

Salido is the only fighter to beat Lomachenko in the pro ranks. There has been some talk of a rematch.

“I feel that there is some unfinished business between us and that’s why I am hoping for a Lomachenko victory. I’m very happy with my win over him, but as a warrior you always want to prove yourself against the best and as he seems to think that he can win a second fight against me, I would like to give him the opportunity to prove it,” said Salido.

Salido felt he was robbed of that opportunity of a Lomachenko fight when he was given a draw last summer in his championship fight against Francisco Vargas, and while the fight will surely be the fight of the year, the result was a disappointment.

“I felt - like many people - that I won my last two fights, and that I should be getting the big fights as a world champion. I wish the best to Lomachenko tonight, and if he wants to avenge his loss to me I will be very happy to give him the rematch,” said Salido.
