European light welterweight champion Denis Shafikov (27-0-1, 16 KOs) is ready to defend his title later tonight at the backyard of Scottish challenger Lee McAllister (34-2, 9 KOs) in Aberdeen.

“We are ready to fight McAllister, to shut this boastful kid up in front of his own fans”, commented Shafikov’s manager Oleg Bogdanov to BoxingScene. “Denis is in great shape and fully pumped up for the fight. We’ve had a wonderful camp under the guidance of Alexander Zimin. Coach Alexander will be in Germany  to help Alexander Povetkin get his own victory but I’m confident Denis will win in Scotland nevertheless”. Shafikov is ranked #12 by the WBC.

2011 WBC Female Fighter of the year Mariana Juarez (32-5-3, 15 KOs) will got a tough test tonight. “Barbie” Juarez, a long-time WBC flyweight champion, will test her skills against durable Florida-based Russian Anastasia Toktaulova (14-10, 2 KOs), whose record doesn’t exactly represents her true mastery.

Toktaulova, 34, is the reigning WIBA and WBC International light flyweight titlist. She also held the Russian and European super flyweight, GBU flyweight and WIBF light flyweight versions of the title and she has never been stopped in her career.
