Roy Jones Jr. is not worried about fighting Bernard Hopkins in the first quarter of 2010. Jones won a decision over Hopkins in 1993 for the vacant IBF middleweight title. Last week he signed an agreement to fight Hopkins in a rematch 16-years in the making. He says beating Hopkins is nothing new, he beat him in 1993 with one hand. Jones has always claimed that he beat Hopkins with a hand injury. The only concern for Jones is the IBO cruiserweight title bout against champion Danny Green on December 2 in Sydney, Australia.
"I beat Hopkins with one hand, that ain't nothing new to do, this is new, I like new stuff. That old business is old business," Jones told the Sydney Morning Herald. "I beat Hopkins way back before you even knew his name with one hand, why should I be concerned about him, that's not even the issue right now. This (fight) solidifies part of my historic run, that's the only weight class I've not been crowned champion in."
Jones doesn't see the fight with Green going twelve. He plans to knock Green out in style for the Australian fans.
"It all depends on how Danny comes out there," Jones said. "If he's going to hit me hard as hell early, because I know he's strong, he's quick, it'll piss me off and from there, there we go. Danny brings what he brings but I don't think he will see the 12th round."
