Rocky Fielding has had his next opponent confirmed.
The former WBA ‘regular’ super-middleweight champion has been out of the ring since succumbing his crown to the Mexican superstar last December at Madison Square Garden.
Fielding was stopped inside three rounds in New York by Saul Alvarez and had been set to make his comeback in July at the Eventim Olympia.
But he will be back at the same venue on November 15 after being ruled out earlier this summer with a foot injury.
Fielding will have Abdallah Paziwapazi (26-6-1, 23 KOs) in the opposite corner to him on the night –– but he is planning on it going early.
“I don’t plan on having a long night with him. When Paziwapazi feels my power, he’ll know,” said Fielding, who claimed his world title in July 2018 with a scintillating stoppage of Tyron Zeuge in his homeland of Germany.
“I’ve had a look through his record and he’s got a lot of stoppages but a lot of them have been at a low level. Whenever he’s stepped up, he’s lost and I’m on a different level to all of his previous opponents,” ‘Rocky From Stocky’ added.
Paziwapazi was last seen blasting his way to the vacant WBO Asia Pacific title with an eye-catching third-round knockout of Zulipikaer Maimaitiali in China back just last month.
“The level I’m at, the motivation is always there for whoever I fight. I just train hard and prepare for whoever is in front of me and now we know it’s him, we can work on the shots that will wipe him out.”
The card, which is also set to feature former four-time world title challenger Martin Murray, will be screened exclusively live worldwide on iFL TV and in the States on ESPN +, as part of a link-up with Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc.
Alex Dickinson, who suffered his maiden defeat in the paid code last time out, losing to Kamil Sokolowski in Leeds back in June, will be back in action and looking to get back to winning ways, while both John Quigley and Ged Carroll –– both of whom featured on the aforementioned card in July –– have been awarded slots alongside former WBA International female super-featherweight champion Natasha Jonas.
Sean Turner makes his long-awaited comeback and James Heneghan and Mikey Hedges will also box.
Further additions to the card will be revealed in due course.
