Helenius vs. Chisora Rematch Possible For The Future

•Jan 22, 2013

Promoter Kalle Sauerland admits Dereck Chisora will be offered a chance to avenge his controversial defeat by Robert Helenius. Chisora challenged Helenius for his European heavyweight title in December 2011 and was left fuming after his Finnish opponent was handed a split decision win in Helsinki. The Londoner recovered well from being hurt in the opening round and appeared to outwork Helenius, who suffered a serious shoulder injury in the fight, but the champion still clung onto his title.

A source close to Sauerland Event has disputed the recent reports of a planned doubleheader for March 2nd, featuring a trilogy match between Marco Huck and Ola Afolabi and a heavyweight bout between Robert Helenius and Michael Sprott. Neither fight is done, said the source. And, in fact, Sauerland is planning to stage "something different" on the March 2 date.

Robert Helenius Takes on Sherman Williams on Nov. 10

Sauerland Event

•Oct 22, 2012

Robert Helenius (17-0, 11 KOs) will take on Sherman “The Tank” Williams (35-11-2, 19 KOs) at Helsingin Jäähalli on November 10. “It´s a done deal,” Nordic Fight Night promoter Nisse Sauerland confirmed. “The contracts have been signed, the Tank is coming to Finland! This is going to be a tough test for Robert in his comeback. Williams is experienced, rugged and strong. But for Robert to make an impact at the world level, he has to get rid of everyone. With the help of his fantastic Finnish fans, I am sure that he will break down the Tank and continue his winning streak.”
