Robeisy Ramirez impressively continued his comeback Tuesday night from a shocking loss in his professional debut. Ramirez knocked down Yeuri Andujar twice within the first minute of their scheduled six-round featherweight fight and knocked him out in the first round at MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. The 26-year-old Ramirez, a two-time Olympic gold medalist from Cuba, won his third straight fight since Adan Gonzales beat him by split decision in his pro debut, four-rounder August 10 in Philadelphia.
It isn’t a coincidence that Robeisy Ramirez will fight Tuesday night on Shakur Stevenson’s undercard. Bob Arum, whose company promotes both boxers, told BoxingScene.com recently that he still hopes to match Stevenson versus Ramirez at some point. It’s a natural fight to make because Cuba’s Ramirez edged the United States’ Stevenson in the bantamweight gold medal match at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Shakur Stevenson made sure Monday that he wasn’t overweight for his debut in the junior lightweight division. Wearing a mask and foot coverings as COVID-19 precautions, the 22-year-old Stevenson stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s scale at exactly 130 pounds at MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas.
Robeisy Ramirez’s stunning defeat in his pro debut quickly knocked him off track for an eventual pro showdown with Shakur Stevenson. Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. signed Ramirez to a promotional contract in part to match him against Stevenson at some point because Ramirez beat Stevenson in the bantamweight gold-medal match at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Cuba’s Ramirez, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, will attempt to continue rebuilding his reputation by winning his third straight professional fight on Stevenson’s undercard June 9 in Las Vegas.
Two time Olympic gold medal winner Robeisy Ramirez is hoping to return to the ring on June 9 in Las Vegas, if the Nevada Athletic Commission gives the go-ahead to Top Rank, the boxer's promoter.
