Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is focused on taking away Chris Algieri's best weapon - his jab. Algieri (20-0, 8KOs) challenges WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on November 22nd in Macau, China.

Algieri used his jab and boxing ability to defeat another of Roach's fighters, Ruslan Provodnikov, in June. Although he went down in the first round and his right eye was swollen shut, Algieri's jab put him back in the fight. He won a twelve round split decision to capture the WBO's title at junior welterweight.

Roach brought in undefeated junior welterweight contender Viktor Postol, who also has a good jab, to spar with Pacquiao in camp.

"[Algieri] has a great jab. The jab is the best punch in boxing – guys like Virgil Hill and Larry Holmes won world titles with the jab, so it’s something we really have to concentrate on.  We have to take that jab away from him and we have a game plan on how to do that and we are working on that every day," Roach said.

"And that’s why Postol was brought in, because he has a very good jab like Algieri.  Now, he is a little bit taller than Algieri and has a longer reach but it gives a good idea about what to expect in the fight."
