Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has no problem with Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38KOs) facing undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford (27-0, 19KOs) in early 2016.

Crawford is one the main candidates in the running to fight Pacquiao in what is being billed as the Filipino star's final career fight. The other candidates include Amir Khan and WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.

Roach received a call from Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, who asked the veteran coach if he would have any issue with his boxer facing Crawford.

The final call will be up to Pacquiao, but Roach plays a major role in his fight decisions.

Roach's preference would be a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr., who decisioned Pacquiao in May and then retired in September. Roach expects Mayweather to fight again in the near future.

"I spoke to Bob Arum and he asked if I would be willing to have Pacquiao fight Terence Crawford. And I said yes, but the final decision is up to Manny. The next opponent may be Terence Crawford, but it could also be a rematch against Mayweather, if he comes out of retirement, which I think will happen and I think he will return to the ring. I'm sure Manny would make a better fight than what [he was able to do] in the first fight," Roach told TV Azteca.
