Trainer Freddie Roach would love to see Manny Pacquiao face current WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (29-0, 17KOs) - if Pacquiao defeats Chris Algieri on November 22nd in Macau, China.
Garcia is pondering the possibility of heading to welterweight for his next fight. He has a mandatory due to WBC contender Viktor Postol. Roach doesn't care about the weight. He would have Pacquiao, the current WBO welterweight champion, face him at 140 or 147.
"My first choice for Manny's next fight is Danny Garcia. I know it's out there. I would love to fight Garcia, it's a great fight for Manny at 140 or 147. Right now Manny is fighting at 144 for this fight. If he feels good at 144 - he'll go to 140. If he doesn't then we'll go to 147. He's really more of a 140-pounder. His walking around weight is 142," Roach said.
