Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz is set to fight. A seemingly routine practice has not always been the case for the former IBF junior lightweight titlist, who has struggled at the scales in recent times. There were no such issues on Wednesday, when both Diaz and Jesus ‘Ricky’ Perez were within the contracted 139-pound weight limit for their scheduled ten-round bout. Diaz weighed 137.6 pounds, while Tijuana’s Perez was 138.2 for their Golden Boy Fight Night on DAZN main event this Thursday from Commerce Casino in Commerce, California.

Former World Champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. (33-4-1, 15 KOs) of South El Monte will kick off the first Golden Boy Fight Night on DAZN card of 2024 in a 10-round super lightweight main event against the tough Jesus “Ricky” Perez (24-5, 18 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico. The action will take place at The Commerce Casino & Hotel and will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN at 6:00 p.m. PT.

Alexis Rocha was all smiles while Giovani Santillan was all business as they soaked in the last bit of ambiance during Friday’s weigh-in ceremony. Both welterweights made weight for their scheduled twelve-round bout. Rocha was 147 pounds, while the unbeaten

Former World Champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz (33-4-1, 15 KOs) of South El Monte is scheduled to return in a 10-round fight against the up-and-coming pugilist Richard “El Castigo” Medina (15-1, 8 KOs) of San Antonio, Texas. The lightweight match will be featured as the co-main event on the upcoming Rocha vs. Santillan card taking place at the Kia Forum on Saturday, October 21.

ONTARIO, Calif. – Anthony Saldivar and Jerome Clayton kicked off the card Saturday night with a four-round junior middleweight matchup. The 22-year-old Saldivar (4-0, 2 KOs), a 6-foot, 2-inch southpaw from Ontario, pleased his well-attended hometown faithful by dropping Clayton (2-2-1, 2 KOs) three times to score a second-round stoppage win.

A pair of top ten middleweights will collide one division north. Jaime Munguia and Sergiy Derevyanchenko each tipped the scales at 167.4 pounds for their scheduled 12-round super middleweight contest. Both boxers appeared well-conditioned and finely tuned outside of their current weight division as they meet in the DAZN main event this Saturday from Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.

Returning the ring for the second time in 2023, Shane Mosley, Jr. (19-4, 10 KOs) will face a tough dance partner from Temple Hills, Massachusetts, D’Mitrius “Big Meech” Ballard (21-1-1, 13 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight scrap.

Ricardo Sandoval refused to leave this one to the judges. The flyweight contender scored a one-punch, second-round knockout of Nicaragua’s Jerson Ortiz. A left hook to the body put Ortiz down and out at 2:46 of round two in their DAZN-aired flyweight bout Saturday evening at Fox Theater in Pomona, California.

Luis Nery and Azat Hovhannisyan are set for a dangerous fight though where the lucrative reward far outweighs the high risk. Both boxers made weight for their scheduled twelve-round junior featherweight title eliminator. Tijuana’s Nery was right at the 122-pound divisional limit, while Hovhannisyan—an Armenian contender based out of Glendale, California—came in slightly under at 121.6 pounds for the DAZN main event Saturday evening from Fox Theater in Pomona, California.
