Raza Hamza will step back into the ring for the first time since the tragic death of his younger brother. Hamza’s 21-year-old brother Amir Chaand was killed in a road crash in July, Raza described the tragedy as “losing my best friend.”
Ryan Burnett is likely to have his next fight away from Belfast. The WBA Super world bantamweight champion will come up against Nonito Donaire in the World Boxing Super Series quarter-final. Burnett, a previous owner of the IBF belt which is now held by fellow tournament participant Emmanuel Rodriguez, was pitted against the Filipino at the gala draw in Moscow, Russia in July.

A deal has been reached for Raza Hamza (8-0-1, 4 KOs) to fight Lewis Pettitt (20-2, 9 KOs) for the vacant WBO European featherweight title. The bout, which could be staged in November, would be 25-year-old Hamza’s first professional title fight after making his debut in February 2015. For Pettitt this would be his sixth contest featuring a championship having fought for titles at both super bantamweight and featherweight.
