According to World of Boxing promoter Andrei Ryabinsky, the contracts have been signed for Alexander Povetkin (27-0, 19KOs)to face Carlos Takam (30-1-1, 23KOs) on October 24th in Moscow. The likely venue is the Palace of Sports in Luzhniki. The fight will have Takam's WBC silver heavyweight championship at stake.

The winner will move a big step forward in securing a shot at the WBC crown, which is currently held by Bermane Stiverne of Canada.

Ryabinsky stated: "The talks were held peacefully, and as a result a contract was signed for the fight. Currently Takam is the ost appropriate opponent for Alexander."
