Los Mochis, Sin - Like a freshman who dreams of winning a world title, popular boxer Jorge "Travieso" Arce is like an engine, giving entirely everything of himself for seven weeks of preparation that he's done at the gym in Los Montiel.
The "Travieso" Arce has already won three world belts in different categories, but wants one more.
Before going for a fourth title, Arce who is 30 years old, has to overcome former world champion Martin "Gallito" Castillo on July 31 in the Palenque de la Feria of Tepic, Nayarit in the main event of a card called "Summer of Champions."
The fight Arce (54-6-1, 41 KO's) and Martin "Gallito" Castillo (35-3, 18 KO's) is agreed to for 10 rounds at Bantamweight and that night the winner will receive a good world ranking.
The "Summer of Champions" is promoted by Zanfer Promotions and the Government of of Nayarit and will be televised as part of series "Top Rank Live" and will be broadcast in the United States by Fox Sports in Spanish and in Mexico on TV Azteca.
"I trained with an enthusiasm that I haven't had for a long ago, perhaps because the balance is so good with my private and professional life. I have a dream of winning a fourth title in my fourth division. I do not know, but the important thing is that I enjoy running and train as it was before," says Arce as he completes the preparation for the fight with Castillo.
Jorge Arce has trained hard in his hometown of Los Mochis, Sinaloa with the coaches of a recognized family headed by Don Manuel Montiel.
"After many years I go back to my roots with the Montiel family and it's been great. Now I'm ready, I'm focused on the fight with Castillo, he is my passport to go for a world title in September or October with the Colombian Yonnhy Pérez," Arce said.
"I'm at a stage in my career that I seek only the opportunity to contest a world title at 118 pounds. Unfortunately I suffered an injury before facing Eric Morel on June 26 and now need to beat Castillo to go for that belt that I so desire," said the pride of Los Mochis.
Martin "Gallito" Castillo, who lives in Los Angeles, California was the WBA super flyweight champion and successfully defended the crown three times before losing to Nobou Nashiro in Japan. He won his last two fights in a row after a brief retirement.
