Photos: Emanuel Navarrete Grinds in Tijuana For Elorde Clash

WBO super bantamweight world champion, Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete, was training hard in Tijuana for his upcoming defense of the title.

Navarrete (28-1, 24 KO's) will face Filipino Juan Miguel “Boss” Elorde (28-1, 15 KO's) on the national Mexican weekend, this coming Saturday, September 14, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Practically closing the strong stage of his preparation, Navarrete showed his class, his level and his conditioning. He had two rounds of sparring without too much intensity and showed his high volume of accurate punches.

Navarrete is also on weight, and will not be forced to take part in any rigorous diets and much less, sacrifice himself with dehydration or extra hours of work to cut down.

“We feel very good, very strong. You have to remember that I fought less than a month ago, so I bring that conditioning and accumulated preparation and right now I feel very strong, very fast, without any weight problems and I'm ready to give a great fight, against a very strong opponent,” said Navarrete.

Love this guy. And he's going right back into a fight after just having had one, he will be sharp. Too bad it's another Top Rank mismatch but oh well.

Navarrete might be the man who would stop Naoya Inoue.

Navarrete fighting again is impressive. This kid is an excellent example of paying your dues and deserving a spot at the top of the lb x lb list. Too bad he does not talk smack or represent the ghetto hood…
