Peter McDonagh has been forced out of his fight tonight.

The three-weight Irish champion was set to feature on a non-televised Hennessy Sports card.

‘The Cinderella Man’s’ next outing was scheduled to take place as part of the supporting cast to the vacant European super-lightweight title showdown against Anthony Yigit.

But McDonagh (27-28-1, 3 KOs) must now wait for his ring return after suffering a virus which left him with no choice but to pull out of his clash at the Westcroft Leisure Centre in Carshalton, Surrey.

The news was first revealed on Friday by IrishBoxing.com and he told Joe O’Neill of the website that he “tried to shrug it off” but his management team at MTK Marbella advised him to sit it out.

Further details regarding McDonagh’s next outing will be revealed in due course.

In other news, Felix Cash and Jake Ball –– who return on a Matchroom show at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London on March 17 –– will be joined on the bill by a whole host of prospects.

Boxing Scene understands that former English featherweight champion Reece Bellotti will be on the card alongside Southern Area cruiserweight champion Isaac Chamberlain and Danny Dignum, who made his professional debut last November and recently signed a six-fight deal with promoter Eddie Hearn.

Elsewhere, Ekow Essuman and Brad Foster have been added to the undercard of Frank Warren’s April 22 card at Leicester Arena, which will be live and exclusive on BoxNation and BT Sport, while the same platform will be afforded to Lerrone Richards on May 6 at the Copper Box Arena in London, providing he wins his February 24 fight at York Hall.

And in Wales, it has been revealed that Mason Jones and Jason Sillett will feature on the undercard of the Cyclone Promotions card at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on March 11.

The main event, a vacant British cruiserweight title clash between Craig Kennedy and Matty Askin, will be aired exclusively live on Channel 5, but the supporting cast –– which also features a rematch between Ronny Mittag and Conrad Cummings for the German’s IBF Inter-Continental middleweight title, Morgan Jones and an appearance for Wales’ only active female fighter Ashley Brace, will be screened by Spike TV.

Meanwhile, Dale Evans will clash with Tony Dixon fr the vacant Welsh welterweight crown on March 25 in Merthyr Tydfil.
