BoxingScene.com had been informed that a television date has been finalized with Showtime - for a guaranteed light heavyweight war between IBF champion Tavoris Cloud (24-0, 19KOs) and former WBC beltholder Jean Pascal (26-2-1, 16KOs). Yvon Michel, who promotes Pascal, reached an agreement with Cloud's promoter, Don King, and Showtime, for the date of August 11th in either Montreal or Quebec City.

Michel hopes to finalize the venue in the next couple of days, with a press conference likely taking place next week.

"The fight will be on August 11. It will be here in Canada. The site I don't know yet, it will be in Montreal or Quebec City. We are working on it. We should know within a couple of days, but [the date] is all confirmed with me, King and Showtime," Michel told BoxingScene.com.

Pascal will return for the first time since last May's decision loss to Bernard Hopkins, while Cloud comes back from February's controversial split decision victory over Gabriel Campillo.

To update an earlier story, Michel tells BoxingScene that IBO 168-pound champion Thomas Oosthuizen (19-0-1, 13KOs) has rejected a possible fight with Adonis Stevenson (18-1, 15KOs). Michel, who promotes Stevenson, was interested in matching him against Oosthuizen for the IBF's number one ranking, which is currently vacant. Michel was advised by Oosthuizen's promoter, Lou DiBella, that his boxer is going in another direction.

"Lou told me this morning that Oosthuizen has no interest in fighting Adonis Stevenson next," Michel said.

Stevenson is ranked at number two by the IBF. Michel will pursue the highest available contender to match Stevenson in a fight for the vacant number one slot.
