After the Manny Pacquiao-Erik Morales trilogy bout was finished, Top Rank promotionald head, Bob Arum, revealed to reporters that he is hoping to put together a possible showdown between Manny Pacquiao and undefeated power-puncher Edwin Valero, next March in Macau.

Valero (20-0, 20KOs), the WBA super featherweight champion, has knocked out every opponent to step in the ring with him. Valero holds the record for 18 straight first round knockouts. Only two of his opponents were able to last past the first round.

The leather would certainly be flying between these two fighters. Bouts against Marco Antonio Barrera or Juan Manuel Marquez may bring more press, and dollar figures to the table, but given the recent events between Golden Boy Promotions, who hold contracts on Barrera and Marquez, and Top Rank, who now have Pacquiao - making negotiations for such fights is next to impossible.

It is expected by most insiders that Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank are headed towards a bitter court battle over which promotional company actually holds the rights to promote Pacquiao, which may hold up any plans for a bout in March.
