Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao is standing form on his decision to retire after one more fight, because a planned run at a senate seat in the Philippines. Pacquiao is becoming more and more involved with his political career.

Discussions are taking place for Pacquiao to return to the ring in the first quarter of 2016. He was last in the ring on May 2nd, when he lost a twelve round unanimous decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The next potential opponent for Pacquiao is British boxer Amir Khan, who used to be the a sparring partner for the Filipino star.

He would like to face Mayweather again, but the five division champion retired last month and it's unclear if he will ever fight again.

"That's my plan [to retire after one more fight]. I'm running for Senator; that's a great responsibility," Pacquiao said to ESPN Deportes.

"It would be between seeking revenge (on Mayweather) or alternatively Amir Khan or former junior welterweight titlist Danny Garcia. But I don't know if Mayweather is going to fight again. I think the Khan fight is the most feasible. I'd like to bring the fight to the Middle East, that would be my plan, I would love to bring the fight to Doha."

Pacquiao is still hungry to fight. His decision to retire next year is based on expanding his political path.

"I've still got the hunger. That's why I want one more fight to move on from the Mayweather fight," Pacquiao said.
