Macau - A reporter today asked Brandon Rios about "...all of the pressure going into a fight against Manny Pacquiao." "No pressure on me," Rios said at his daily workout. "I'll be the one putting all of the pressure on him November 23. I'm retiring Pacqiuao. I said it before and I'll say it again - Pacquiao's time is over. Marquez took the last bit of life out of him. I'm going to get all of that Manny Money when I win and get ready for my next fight."

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez says Brandon Rios is too mechanical to defeat Manny Pacquiao on November 23rd in Macau, China. It will be Pacquiao's first fight since getting knocked out in six round by Marquez last December. It was Pacquiao's second consecutive defeat. Overall, Marquez feels Rios might get a lot stronger from his tough training camp, but has doubts that he will be fast enough to overcome the physical advantages of Pacquiao.

When welterweights Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios step into the ring in the main event of their upcoming pay-per-view, it will be the evening of Nov. 23 in the United States — and around noon on Nov. 24 in Macau, China, which is where Pacquiao-Rios is taking place. It’s an adjustment from Pacquiao’s recent fights. There is a 16-hour difference between Macau and Las Vegas, where 10 of his last 12 bouts have been. Yet Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, says his fighter is being aided by adjustments they’ve made in camp, as well as where Pacquiao’s camp is.

Macau - Brandon 'Bam Bam' Rios put the heat on his sparring partner today, moving forward and blasting hard hooks, particuarly to the body on Thursday at the Venetian Macau. "Rios was explosive today," said Erick DeLeon, the former U.S. National champion who went six rounds of heavy sparring. "On November 23, sooner or later in the ring, (Manny) Pacquiao is going to have to engage. When that happens Rios is going to unload the way he did against me today."

Junior welterweight Brandon Rios continues to train hard, now in Macau, China. Rios recently arrived in the city, along with trainer Robert Garcia and strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza, to finish up his camp for the upcoming fight with eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Rios put in a few sparring a rounds with Erick De Leon. Pacquiao-Rios, headlining an HBO pay-per-view event, takes place on November 23.

Genaro “Gino” Rodriguez has been appointed as the referee for the “Clash in Cotai” between “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao and former world champion Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios in the “Clash in Cotai” Macau on November 24. WBO president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel announced that the Chicago, Illinois based Rodriguez who had previously served as third man in the ring when Brian Viloria lost his WBO/WBA flyweight titles to Juan Francisco Estrada in the same venue last April 6 and also handled the WBO minimumweight title fight when Filipino Merlito “Tiger” Sabillo won by an 8th round TKO of Luis De La Rosa of Coombia last March 9 would handle the Pacquiao-Rios showdown while Asia Pacific vice president Leon Panoncillo will be the official fight supervisor.

Freddie Roach said if the Rios fight “does not go well, we will seriously talk about his retirement,” but that Pacquiao was training as well as ever for the November 23rd pay-per-view bout in Macau. Pacquiao is coming off defeats against Timothy Bradley in a much-criticised judges' decision, and then a knockout at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez. A third successive defeat would put his career at the crossroads, and while Roach said performance levels were more important than results, he acknowledged serious thought would have to be given to the future of “Pac-man” if he does not return to his best in Macau.

Trainer Freddie Roach has tried his best in the aftermath of a catastrophic typhoon that has devastated parts of the Philippines to help keep Manny Pacquaio focused on his Nov. 23 fight against Brandon Rios. Pacquiao’s training camp in General Santos City, far south of where Typhoon Haiyan did immense damage in the central portion of the Philippines, was not affected by the destructive storm. But the tragedy obviously has taken an emotional toll on Pacquiao, a congressman and one of the most popular, influential figures in his homeland.
