After defeats in his last two fights, Manny Pacquiao has not ruled out facing Floyd Mayweather as he prepares for his bout with Brandon Rios. Pacquiao faces former WBA lightweight champion Rios in Macau on November 23 and is expecting the young talent to come at him. However, the Filipino star remains confident he is still the same fighter despite claims losses to Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez have slowed him down. "It depends on his style in the ring and I cannot just easily write the way. I am pretty sure there is going to be more action in the ring and it will be a good fight," Pacquiao said. "He (Rios) is not that easy. Of course I believe I am going to win the fight but let's see, it is hard to say right now."

Manny Pacquiao still maintains the punch that rendered him unconscious back in December by Juan Manuel Marquez was a lucky one and Brandon Rios, who will face Pacquiao later this year in China, insists that he hits harder than Marquez, setting up an intriguing parlor game of sorts centered around whether Rios will be able to give Pacquiao a third straight loss and second straight by knockout. “I can’t get confident because you don’t want to get in the ring too confident because it can hurt you, but I know that I think that I hit harder than Marquez,” Rios said on Tuesday during a Manhattan press conference. “So we’ll see if that shot really affected him bad or really hurt him bad. So we’ll see how damaged he is.” What doesn’t seem to be an issue for both camps is the clumsy video that Rios starred in three years ago in which he was seen crudely mocking trainer Freddie Roach and the tremors that come with his Parkinson’s disease.

HBO and Top Rank have already begun to go all in on its November 23 pay-per-view event, when Manny Pacquiao faces Brandon Rios lives from Macau. A full-blown media blitz is in the works, with the goal to deliver to its viewing audience the feel of life in China as it experienced by the fighters and fight personalities in country for the event. The final stop of a 24,000-mile press tour spanning the globe came Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles. While most of the comments offered from the show’s principles was the same as has been stated during previous press engagements, HBO was pleased to reveal what fans can expect in the final weeks leading up to fight night.

Manny Pacquiao’s strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza has clarified reports that trainer Freddie Roach has fired him, insisting that Roach can’t fire someone who doesn’t work for him. Boxingscene.com reported it was Pacquiao who made the statement during an ESPN show on Monday in answer to a listener’s question whether he would work with Ariza for his Nov. 24 Macau showdown with Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios. Pacquiao answered ,” No, Freddie fired Alex.” In an overseas telephone conversation with BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard from Mexico where he is working with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr mwho is getting ready for a super middleweight fight against Brian Vera on September 7.

Manny Pacquiao’s adviser says that he has been asked why Pacquiao will be facing a potentially tough opponent in Brandon Rios in a comeback fight that follows two consecutive defeats, including a stunning one-punch knockout loss this past December to Juan Manuel Marquez. The answer, according to Michael Koncz, is “we’re not coming on a comeback fight,” he said at a Tuesday press conference. “I think the fight we had with Marquez … was the best performance Manny had in the past four or five fights. Unfortunately we got overaggressive.” Pacquiao and Rios will meet in the main event of a Nov. 23 pay-per-view, a broadcast taking place in the gambling mecca of Macau, China.

Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) has his back against the door and Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) has promised to push him through. Pacquiao suffered back to back defeats in 2012, to Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez. If Pacquiao loses to Rios on November 23rd in Macau, trainer Freddie Roach will advise the Filipino star to retire from boxing. In his last fight, almost a year ago, Pacquiao suffered a deadly sixth round knockout at the hands of Marquez. Some have said Pacquiao is no longer the same fighter, including Rios' trainer Robert Garcia. Not listening to the hype, Rios is training to face the best Pacquiao possible.

When Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) vs. Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) was first announced for November 23 in Macau, many experts compared the match to Pacquiao's 2010 battle with Antonio Margarito. In that fight, whict took place at a catch-weight of 150-pounds, Pacquiao gave Margarito a vicious beating over twelve one-sided rounds. Robert Garcia, who trained Margarito for that fight, and currently trains Rios, does not view the two fights in the same light.
