Pacquiao-Barrera PPV Does Nearly 350K Buys

By Mark Vester

According to a recent report in the San Antonio Express News , Bob Arum, president of Top Rank, informed the paper that the Manny Pacquiao-Marco Antonio Barrera HBO pay-per-view registered almost 350,000 pay-per-view buys and a $3 million dollar gate at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

The fight was a rematch of their 2003 bout, which Pacquiao dominated on his way to an eleventh round stoppage. In the rematch, Pacquiao once again dominated Barrera, but this time he won by way of a unanimous decision. Barrera announced his retirement after the fight.
