Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has thumbed down the planned March 27 IBF Intercontinental super featherweight title fight of younger brother Bobby Pacquiao against  Argentinia’s   Robert David Arrieta.

 

Pacquiao’s close friend and confidant Rex “Wakee” Salud told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that he received an overseas telephone call from Michael Koncz informing him that Pacquiao didn’t want his brother to fight in Dubai because he had a fight scheduled for him in the US on March 26.

 

However, Koncz provided no other details.However, Salud indicated that the March 26 fight in Las Vegas would be a tune-up fight for a possible title clash with lightweight Michael Katsidis later in the year.

 

The Dubai card which is headlined by the IBF/IBO flyweight title defense of Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire against Australian Hussein Hussein is a promotional venture of the Third Force with point person Noli Eala, the former PBA Commissioner and Gary Shaw, the promoter of Donaire.
