Ohara Davies Vows To Prove Doubters Wrong With Catterall

Ohara Davies has politely reminded the boxing world of his talent inside the ring as he continues to forego talking ‘trash’ ahead of a huge showdown with Jack Catterall.

Hackney’s ‘Two Tanks’ (18-1-KO14) challenges MTK Global stable-mate Catterall (22-0-KO12) in Leicester on October 6 looking to earn a WBO world title shot and is keen to defy his critics.

Davies said: “A lot of people seem to think I got here to the big stage because I talk trash. Yes, I know how to draw a crowd and I don’t care about getting booed.

“I’ve been quite controversial in the past and people seem to have forgotten I actually know how to fight. My record is good but everyone’s overlooking my successes since the one loss I took.

“Hopefully, the knockout of Paul Kamanga put back in everyone’s minds that I’m a boxer, not a talker. I’m a fighter, not a clown.

“Another misconception is that all I have is my big right hand. I catch people with that shot because I’ve tactically worked out how to do so. Look at my Derry Mathews fight or any of the others – I have other tools and weapons.

“Against Kamanga, I knew the right hand was the shot that would work but I’m a technical boxer. A lot of people might not see that or think it but I believe I am.”

Also starring on the Frank Warren bill at Leicester Arena – live on BT Sport - is Archie Sharp, who challenges Leon Woodstock for the WBO European super-featherweight crown.

Low key interested in this fight. It'll definitely be a nice boost up W for the winner to a slightly higher level in the game.

This is a very important fight for his career. I hope he wins.

Ohara's mouth has kept him relevant so he's pretty smart in that sense. Bad publicity is good publicity n all that, especially in the hurt game. I'd say he's a lot more chilled after Josh gave him a good hiding.…

I think Ohara is an absolute retard but I respect him taking on guys like Taylor and Catterall (guys on the same level) at such a stage in his career. He could have easily went past 20-0 fighting other guys…
