Undefeated welterweight contender Carlos "Chema" Ocampo (22-0, 13 KOs) is looking to become the next Mexican boxer to pull off a major upset.

On June 16th in Texas, Ocampo will challenge IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence (23-0, 20 KOs) in a Showtime televised main event.

Ocampo is a massive underdog in the bout and he's never faced anyone even close to Spence's level.

But, he secured the opportunity by being appointed as the mandatory challenger by the International Boxing Federation (IBF).

"We have seen in Mexico and internationally that in boxing there is nothing set in stone [regarding Spence winning]. My dream is to be a champion, the opportunity came and I've had the last three months to prepare for the most important fight of my life, so I feel that I have the possibilities [to win] and Spence knows it," said Ocampo to ESPN Deportes.

"They have always thrown me in with the toughest opponents, they were supposed to beta me but the reality was... it was I who ended up winning. We faced the best in my weight division in Mexico and we won, so I feel that I can pull off a surprise."

Ocampo is very happy to get a headline fight at the Ford Center at The Star in Texas, and right now he's training very hard with his coach, Rafael Guzman, in Ensenada.

"Within the team there are only positive comments. [Some of these team members] have assisted us before and we came out on top. I have not let anything affect me. The only thing that matters is to be prepared to adjust in the fight, to come forward or counterattack. I don't think that Errol is perfect, let's try to prove it," Ocampo said.
