WBO #9- and IBF #11-ranked bantamweight Nikolai Potapov will return to action on Wednesday, October 30 in Moscow, Russia. Fighting in the 10-round main event of a card presented by Shamo Boxing at the Korston Club Hotel, Potapov (20-2-1, 11 KOs), of Podolsk, Russia now living in New York, will face Tanzanian southpaw Nasibu Ramadhani (29-14-2, 16 KOs).
Nikolai Potapov isn’t going down without another fight. Potapov’s promoter, Dmitriy Salita, told BoxingScene.com on Monday that he has filed an official protest of Potapov’s majority-decision defeat to Joshua Greer Jr. with New Jersey’s State Athletic Control Board. Greer recorded a controversial victory over Potapov on Saturday night at Prudential Center in Newark.

The bantamweight contender, known for offering pillows to opponents he plans to knock out, boxed his way to an unusually dull, 12-round, majority-decision win over Nikolai Potapov at Prudential Center. The competitive but boring bout forced fans to voice their displeasure several times as Greer and Potapov tactically tried to figure one another out.

There was some concern before Shakur Stevenson stepped on the scale Friday afternoon that the undefeated featherweight contender might not make weight for his fight Saturday night. Stevenson alleviated those doubts when he officially weighed 126 pounds, the featherweight limit, on the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board’s scale. His opponent, Alberto Guevara, came in slightly lighter, at 125¼ pounds.
