Nick Ball and Meshech Speare have both been given new fight dates.

The Everton Red Triangle-trained pair, who saw their gym-mate Alex Dickinson secure a stunning knockout win over David Howe at Manchester Arena last weekend, as part of the undercard to Tyson Fury's winning return against Sefer Seferi, will be back in action next month.

Ball (5-0) was last in the ring back in March when he outpointed Innocent Anyanwu over four rounds at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Trafford, Manchester, while Speare, 21, has been out for 12 months.

He had been set to fight on that Bowlers show, promoted by Black Flash, but unforeseen circumstances put paid to that appearance.

The duo have now been given something to focus on, however, after being added to MTK Liverpool's 'Summer Showdown' card on July 21 at Greenbank Sports Academy.

The card will be screened exclusively live on iFL TV.

Heavyweight Sean Turner will fight on the bill, while there is action for the returning John Quigley, who lost to Declan Geraghty last time out, and Steven Lewis.

The aforementioned Dickinson is also lined up to feature on the bill, alongside Winsford’s Nathan Clarke, whose last fight was against Conor Benn, as well as Brian Phillips and Ged Carroll.

Tickets for the show are available from the MTK Liverpool gym in the city centre or from the fighters.

In other news, Tommy Philbin has been added to the supporting cast of Josh Taylor’s next fight.

WBC Silver super-lightweight champion Taylor will defend the aforementioned title against Viktor Postol, the former world champion, at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, exclusively live on Channel 5, at the top of a Cyclone Promotions card that also features Martin Bakole’s defence of the IBO Continental heavyweight title and Lee McGregor clash for the vacant IBF Youth bantamweight title against Goodluck Mrema.

And Barry McGuigan has revealed in his latest Mirror Sport column that he is on the verge of revealing the opponent of IBO female lightweight world champion Chantelle Cameron for her fight on the Taylor vs. Postol card.
