BoxingScene.com was advised that lightweight prospect Mickey Bey Jr. (12-0, 7KOs) and his brother, junior welterweight prospect Cortez Bey (8-0, 5KOs), have signed with manager Cameron Dunkin, who also manages Kelly Pavlik, Steven Luevano, Nonito Donaire, James Kirkland and several others. No word on their promotional status but one source told me they could end up with Golden Boy Promotions at some point in the future.

I've had several reliable sources tell me that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is indeed training for a "comeback" - and not because the former five division champion is trying to "stay in shape." Over the weekend, more than a few key people in the industry told me that I shouldn't be surprised if a fight with Mayweather and Juan Manuel Marquez gets finalized for a catch-weight between 140 and 147. When it comes to Mayweather, I won't believe it until I see it.

From what I've heard, James Kirkland has two possible options for his June 27 return on HBO's "Boxing After Dark". The first is a shot at WBO junior middleweight champion Sergei Dzindziruk. The other is a fight for the WBA's interim-junior middleweight title - with the opponent being a contender in the top five. Kirkland is ranked at number one by the WBA, and the others, in ranked order, are Yuri Foreman, Alfredo Angulo, Ricardo Mayorga and Daniel Dawson. The other piece of the planned 6/27 card would feature unbeaten Victor Ortiz getting a possible crack at WBA junior welterweight champion Andreas Kotelnik.
