YUKA Boxing promotions, led by familiar name in Zyaki Yunisov, plans its own show labeled “KO Kings trophy”, which in fact is the Russian version of well-known Prizefighter series albeit with some amendments.

The biggest amendment is that the final fight will consist of six, not three, three-minute rounds.

The event is penciled for June 25 and will be aired live by the MatchTV channel. A ten-rounder and an eight-rounder will also be part of the show. Taking part in the most diverting section are:

• Vitaliy Kudukhov, 30 – former amateur standout and WSB participant

• Vladimir Markelov, 26 (1-0, 1 KO)

• Dmitry Levashev, 34 (3-0, 2 KOs)

• Nikita Stogov, 28 – amateur

• Kureysh Sagov, 28 (3-0, 2 KOs)

• German Skobenko (5-5-2, 2 KOs)

• Bogdan Grevtsov

• Alexander Klychkov

WBA Gold cruiserweight champion Alexey Egorov (11-0, 7 KOs) is aiming hard at Arsen “El Feroz” Goulamirian (26-0, 18 KOs), a France-based Armenian who holds the super belt (the regular version belongs to Kazakh multi-time champion Beibut Shumenov).

“It’s hard to plan anything in this situation. I am to fight in the fall but nothing is set in stone due to an entire situation. It all depends on the WBA sanctioning. But I need to fight [Arsen] Goulamirian, the time has come. He has already taken two optional, so it is time to fight me as his mandatory. I don’t want to consider any other options”, said Egorov in his video-interview with the Russian Boxing Federation.

“I‘m very glad I fought on March 12 in Kazan (Egorov decisioned Vasyl Ducar). I have been told afterwards it could have been cancelled for good. But I was able to fight, to win and to stay active amidst the beginning of the pandemics”, revealed Egorov.

Another local cruiserweight superfight in the country filled with high-rated cruiserweights is one between world-ranked Ruslan Faifer (25-1, 16 KOs) and well-known power-puncher Dmitry Kudryashov (24-3, 23 KOs). It had been previously set for the beginning of May in Rostov-on-Don but was postponed due to COVID-19.

Now it seems that the fight will take place somewhere in August, most probably in Sochi, as was revealed by Faifer in his brief with the Russian Boxing Federation. Faifer is positive about the fight and doesn’t consider Kudryashov to be a favorite though respects him much.
