Nathan Heaney: record, next fight and profile →
Promoted to the top of the bill on his first television appearance, Kaisy Khademi’s big night was ruined by Ijaz Ahmed who claimed a narrow majority decision in their super-flyweight ten-rounder at the Copper Box in East London.
ON SATURDAY NIGHT we roll into show six of our post lockdown series and the first of our autumn schedule when Anthony Yarde returns to the ring with world title glory still firmly on his mind. Anthony, of course, was within a few short seconds of causing a major upset in his first shot at securing a seat at boxing’s top table when he gamely ventured over to Russia and took on the long-standing champion Sergey Kovalev in the then WBO ruler’s home town of Chelyabinsk in August of last year.
Nathan Heaney has signed a promotional agreement with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions. The undefeated IBO Continental champion campaigns at super-middleweight and was last in action in March. Heaney (10-0) outpointed Christian Schembri, a Maltese fighter, over 10 rounds at the Kings Hall in his home city of Stoke-on-Trent to win the second title of his professional career.
