Undefeated Mikey Garcia (34-0, 28KOs) has been out of the ring since a January twelve round decision win over Juan Carlos Burgos.
The 26-year-old fighter saw a potential HBO televised fight with Yuriorkis Gamboa fall through after Garcia was unable to reach a financial agreement with his promoter, Top Rank.
Not long after that fight, Garcia proclaimed that his agreement with Top Rank had expired and pursued a legal suit to break his promotional contract.
Cooler heads may prevail. Garcia recently had a meeting with Top Rank President Todd duBoef and reportedly their discussions was very positive.
Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, tells BoxingScene.com that Garcia's return is being targeted for early 2015.
"We're gonna hope that Mikey, who's a tremendous fighter gets back into action, and right after the first of the year we can get him back in the ring," Arum told BoxingScene.com
