Mikey Garcia: record, next fight and profile →
History, convention wisdom and just plain common sense tells us that, with all things relatively equal, the good big man more often than not prevails over the good little man in boxing. It might sound like an overused cliché, but it has proven to be a reliable rule of thumb.
By Michael Rosenthal - Mikey Garcia has already won. I would’ve advised him not to move up in weight to challenge IBF welterweight titleholder Errol Spence, just as his family members (including brother and trainer Robert Garcia) did. Spence’s combination of size and apparent ability would seem to be too much even...

Hall of Famer and four-time world champion, Erik 'Terrible' Morales is well aware of the heavy risk involved for Mikey Garcia on Saturday night. Morales remembers when he took a very dangerous risk by facing Marcos Maidana in 2011, and almost everyone expected him to get demolished within the first half of the fight.

The undefeated four-division champion understands that four inches, 15 to 20 pounds and 24-0 aren’t the only numerical challenges he’ll encounter Saturday night. Neither he nor Errol Spence Jr. has ever headlined a pay-per-view show, which makes $75 a daunting fig...
Errol Spence and Mikey Garcia face off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in a battle of unbeaten fighters which sees the champion aiming to lay claim to being the best fighter in a division full of talent. Spence (24-0, 21 KOs), is in no doubt what a victory over Garcia (39-0, 30 knockouts) will mean for his career.
