Like most of the boxing world, Michel “La Zarza Ali” Rivera is interested in the outcome of the Gervonta Davis-Frank Martin June 15 pay-per-view showdown. The fight will be distributed by Amazon Prime as part of their output deal with Premier Boxing Champions.

The super lightweight contender expects betting favorite Davis to emerge victorious.

“Davis should beat him. I don’t think Martin has what it takes. A better fight would be me against Tank,” Rivera told BoxingScene.com.

Rivera suffered his first career defeat against Martin on December 17, 2022 in his final fight in the lightweight division.

He had a lot of issues making weight and ended up in the hospital prior to fight night and served a six-month suspension for taking a banned substance that is known to aid in cutting weight.

While a fight against Davis would be bigger, Rivera is also interested in a rematch against Martin.

“I would love to fight that clown again. They know what they did. I would love to run that back and show the world what Michel Rivera at 100 per cent would do against him,” said Rivera.

The South Florida-based Dominican bounced back from the Martin loss in November when he defeated former champion Sergey Lipinets by unanimous decision in their 10-round bout in Las Vegas.
