The news was recently reported by BoxingScene.com that unbeaten super middleweight contender Edgar Berlanga (21-0) had retained the services of top strength and conditioning coach Angel “Memo” Heredia.

Their first fight working together take place on February 24th against fellow unbeaten fighter Padraig McCrory (18-0) of Ireland. The fight will top a Matchroom Boxing on DAZN streamed card and take place in Orlando, Florida.

Heredia has been very impressed by Berlanga in the early stages of their training camp. He recently stated that Berlanga still possesses his trademark power that lead him to 1st round knockout victories in his first 16 fights and that he just needs to reactivate it.

If all goes well on February 24th, Heredia says a very big fight could be on the horizon for the Nuyorican.

“He knows there is a lot at state on the 24th. If he looks good then it’s probably Jaime Munguia or Diego Pacheco. We are targeting those two guys. That will be up to his manager but that is what we are targeting,” Heredia told BoxingScene.com.

“Right now we are just focused on the 24th and putting on a spectacular show here in Orlando in front of all of his Puerto Rican fans. It’s going to be nice.”
