Floyd Mayweather Sr., father and trainer for WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather (44-0, 26KOs), says boxing legend Sugar Ray Robinson (173-19-6, 108KOs) may have been the only fighter, within weight range, capable of defeating his son. He doesn't even think Roberto "Hands of Stone" Duran would have been able to defeat Floyd.
"Duran was smart, but I don't think he could have beat Floyd. Duran is one of my favorite fighters too. But I'm just being honest with you, I don't think he could have whooped him. It would take someone like a, to really whoop Floyd...I believe, that could have whooped Floyd....somebody like Sugar Ray Robinson. He had experience like Floyd, he used his mind. You don't win 200 or 300 fights by not being smart," Mayweather Sr. said.
