Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather, 45-years-old, has fired back at the critics of his recently announced exhibition fight.

Mayweather recently announced that he will return to the ring next month in Dubai to face former sparring partner Don Moore in an exhibition bout.

Last year, Mayweather's age began to surface in his exhibition scrap with social media star Logan Paul - and afterwards Mayweather explained that he would certainly avoid any in-ring action in the future.

That position didn't last long, as Mayweather was in talks to face another social media star, Money Kicks, earlier this year.

The Hall of Famer sees no issue with his decision to continue taking exhibition opportunities.

"See, they're upset because I'm able to milk the game. I'm smart, I've kept all my faculties, made a lot of smart investments," Mayweather told Intu Boxing.

"People like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, the Waltons who people who Walmart and Walgreen... when they're getting money in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and even 90s, it's ok. A young kid like myself from the inner city, the ghetto... I worked my way up to the top. I was able to leave boxing on my own terms and keep all my faculties and keep all my money.

"They're upset that I'm able to go out there and continue to make 40 and 50 and 60 million outside the ring. You can't get mad, this old guy won it."

Mayweather retired from the sport in 2017, after stopping UFC star Conor McGregor. He would then return to the ring at the end of the following year for an exhibition fight in Japan. The bout with Paul was postponed several times before finally taking place last June.
