Dominican welterweight Ed Paredes (30-3-1, 20 KOs), the reigning Latin champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO), is training hard fo his return after a minor layoff due to injury. Paredes, now fully recovered, prepares to face former world champion Vivian Harris in a ten round bout. With his coach Luis Chiro, Paredes is prepared in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and says he is fully refocused to make a statement for a world title shot.
"I'm in excellent condition and on the 21st of July at the Seminole Hard Rock, I'll prove that I deserve a world title shot by beating Vivian Harris," Paredes said.
The event is organized by promoter Henry Rivalta of Acquinity Sports on July 21 at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. The main event will feature an IBF world title elimination bout between super featherweights Argenis Mendez and Martin Honorio.
In addition, former world champion Joan "Little Tyson" Guzman returns after a slight injury to his right hand. The card will be broadcast on national television via Telefutura as part of their Solo Boxeo series.
