Former world champion Ricardo Mayorga could return to the ring in September, against an opponent by name, in what is the final stretch of his boxing career. Sandinista Councilman Enrique Armas will provide a tribute to the late Alexis Arguello in September and there are already talks about the comeback of Mayorga being on the show. Mayorga fought a few weeks ago at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and was stopped by Miguel Cotto in the twelfth round.

Mayorga wants to resumes his career in the middleweight division. He might return above the weight but plans to drop down to 160 to hunt for a title shot. Mayorga's is interested in facing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who is scheduled to fight German boxer Sebastian Zbik on June 4 in California for the middleweight title of World Boxing Council (WBC).
