Stacey Verbeek, who's husband Arnie manages super lightweight contender Maurice "Mighty Mo" Hooker (21-0-3), has advised BoxingScene.com that her fighter will return to action tomorrow in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico against former champion Cristobal Cruz (41-20-4).

The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds and is designed to keep Hooker active.  The Dallas native fought three times in 2016.

The 27-year-old was supposed to return to the ring this Saturday on the Miguel Cotto-James Kirkland undercard.

The whole card was scratched when Kirkland reportedly suffered a broken nose in sparring.  Hooker's promoter Roc Nation Sports then placed him on a show in Kansas City that that has also been canceled.

Hooker went 2-0-1 in 2016 with two first round knockouts.  He battled former interim champion Darleys Perez to a draw on the Sergey Kovalev-Andre Ward undercard in his most recent fight. Cruz just fought in February and picked up a win to snap a four fight losing streak.
