According to former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao must go for a knockout victory in order to beat WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Marquez was dominated by Mayweather over twelve rounds in 2009. He fought Pacquiao four times. All four bouts were very close and controversial, with Marquez scoring a deadly knockout over Pacquiao in the sixth round of their fourth and final meeting in 2012.

He says Pacquiao must be aggressive but use that aggression in a very smart way.

"For Pacquiao to win, he must knock him out - because the judges in Las Vegas are always in favor of Mayweather. Normally when Pacquiao is aggressive, he throws without [looking out for the counter], and in this respect he must change because Mayweather is a great counter-puncher and knows precisely what hurts Pacquiao. What hurts Pacquiao will be the counters and the defense of Mayweather, but he is dangerous for his speed and power. [Mayweather has] the style that hurts Pacquiao, and he should win by decision," Marquez stated during a recent appearance on Golpe a Golpe.
