Former four division world champion Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) has no interest in a future fight with WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford, according to the Mexican star's promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions.

In a recent article on BoxingScene.com, Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum discussed the idea of matching Marquez against Crawford at the end of the year.

Crawford's name has not been mentioned by Marquez in any manner. The only name uttered by Marquez in the last few weeks is former four division world champion Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33KOs) of Puerto Rico.

Arum feels Cotto is too big.

“Marquez wants to fight in the summer in Mexico City,” stated Arum to BoxingScene.com. “He says his knee is fine. If he comes through in that fight, we’ll match him in a real marquee fight. Maybe against a guy like Terence Crawford, assuming Crawford’s victorious [on Saturday with Hank Lundy]. Marquez is more of a junior welterweight. The idea of him fighting Cotto doesn’t make any sense, He’s too big.”

Beltran says Crawford is not even under consideration.

"We do not agree [with Arum's position]. Crawford is completely off the radar, Crawford has not even reached the top and Juan Manuel Marquez is already a legend and wants to go against another legend. He would not gain as much, economically and career wise, with Crawford. He would gain much more in both areas with Cotto, and that's who he wants to fight," Beltran said to ESPN Deportes.

Marquez is focused on doing two more fights, tentatively in May and then in the fall. He says a Cotto fight could take place as late as November.

Marquez, 42-years-old, has been out of the ring since winning a twelve round unanimous decision over former WBO junior welterweight champion Mike Alvarado at the Forum in Los Angeles. Since then Marquez has been dealing with a knee injury and rehabilitation to properly recover.

Cotto was last in the ring in November when he lost a twelve round unanimous decision to Saul 'Caenlo' Alvarez.
