York Hall, UK - Mark Chamberlain put on a show to retain his IBF European lightweight championship with a tenth round stoppage of Artjoms Ramlavs.
Chamberlain, 24-years-old, had to overcome a bad cut above his right eye to secure the win - and raised his undefeated record to 14 wins and 10 of them by knockout.
“It was a new experience getting a cut; we got through it and it wasn’t very nice. Any fighter that’s had a cut will know that if the Vaseline gets in your eye, you’re blinded in one eye. In one of the rounds, I got through with one eye and I couldn’t judge where the punches were coming from. But it was a new experience, I kept calm and got through it,” Chamberlain told TNT Sports.
Henry Turner retained his WBC International silver super lightweight championship with a ten round unanimous decision win over Billy Allington.
Middleweight Liam Williams stayed busy with a first round destruction of Romanian Florin Cardos.
Williams was initially scheduled to return on December 2 against undefeated puncher - Hamzah Sheeraz - at the Copper Box. Sheeraz suffered a training camp injury and was forced to withdraw. Their fight was pushed back to first quarter of 2024.
