Former two division champion Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs) says he is likely to return to action in the "middle of 2015."

The boxer, 31-years-old, had a huge year in 2014 with two Showtime Pay-Per-View fights with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs). Although he lost, Maidana was competitive in both contests.

In terms of the options, there is very little interest in facing Keith Thurman after the boxer had a very lackluster performance last Saturday night with 40-year-old Leonard Bundu.

One of the possibilities Maidana would consider, according to his adviser Sebastian Contoursi, is Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs), who defeated Maidana in 2010 with a very close twelve round decision at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. That match took place when boxers were at junior welterweight.

Khan is looking to face the man Maidana fought twice, which is Mayweather. But Mayweather recently stated in an interview that he doesn't have any interest in facing Khan. A Maidana-Khan rematch would be a big fight in the welterweight division and both of them work with adviser/manager Al Haymon.
