Former two division champion Paulie Malignaggi is only a few days away from his bare knuckle fight with UFC veteran Artem Lobov.

The contest takes place on pay-per-view, at BKFC 6, on June 22nd in Tampa, Florida.

At one media event, Malignaggi slapped Lobov in the face after a heated war of words. A scuffle erupted as both were separated.

Then at another media event, Malignaggi once again had a heated exchange of words with Lobov - and the retired boxer spit in Lobov's face.

Even some of Malignaggi's fans were stunned that that he spit in Lobov's face.

Malignaggi does not regret his behavior, because he says Lobov and his close friend, UFC superstar Conor McGregor, made this rivalry very personal.

In 2017, McGregor had used Malignaggi as a sparring partner for a scheduled fight with Floyd Mayweather in August of that year.

McGregor leaked photos and video footage from sparring sessions with Malignaggi.

Malignaggi has long claimed that McGregor and his team had doctored the photos and footage to make it appear that the UFC fighter dominated the sparring sessions.

Because of the actions of Team McGregor in 2017, Malignaggi has no remorse over his press conference actions.

“I don’t regret it because the line was crossed a long time ago,” Malignaggi told The Mac Life.

“You can’t take spitting or anything else out of context. This line was crossed two years ago. Once you cross the line, you can’t set a new line.

“Not only do I not regret it, if his mother was at the press conference, I would have spit on her too. There’s no reason to regret anything. I’m ashamed I couldn’t do more. Once you cross that line with me, we can just go.”
