Lyndon Arthur: record, next fight and profile →
THE EAGERLY ANTICIPATED 'Seek and Destroy' showdown between Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce at the o2 Arena on April 11 now has a blockbuster chief support in place with Anthony Yarde set to take on the unbeaten Lyndon Arthur.
Lyndon Arthur hasn’t been shy about proclaiming his superiority over fellow British light heavyweight Anthony Yarde. Arthur remained unbeaten Saturday night, but he’ll have to show more than he did in overcoming Emmanuel Anim to prove he’ll eventually test a 175-pound champion the way Yarde did against Sergey Kovalev on August 24. Ghana’s Anim pushed Arthur at times in a 12-round fight Arthur won by unanimous decision on the Josh Warrington-Sofiane Takoucht undercard at First Direct Arena in Leeds, England.
ARTHUR insists arch rival Anthony Yarde can shock the world and crush Sergey Kovalev next month. Ilford hitter Yarde faces a tough assignment when he travels to Kovalev’s back yard in Chelyabinsk and challenges for the Russian’s WBO light-heavyweight title on Saturday August 24.
BOXING is split over the outcome the vacant British heavyweight title between unbeaten prospects Daniel Dubois (11-0, 10KOs) and Nathan Gorman (16-0, 11KOs) on London’s o2 Arena on Saturday (July 13), live on BT Sport.
JOSH WARRINGTON MAKES a second defence of his IBF world featherweight title against mandatory challenger Kid Galahad at the FD Arena in Leeds on June 15 and a number of the supporting acts to this huge main event can now be revealed.
Oliver Flodin (4-0) believes he has the necessary attributes to claim a career best win over Abdul Khattab (15-2-1, 4 KOs) when they clash in an eight-round Scandinavian middleweight thriller at the Struer Energi Park on January 19.
Tommy Fury made a solid start to his professional campaign. The 19-year-old was in action at Manchester Arena on Saturday night. Fury, the younger brother of former unified heavyweight king Tyson Fury, outpointed Jevgenijs Andrejevs over four rounds.
Light Heavyweight prospect Lyndon Arthur believes it is only a matter of time before he begins mixing it with his domestic rivals; also stating he’s the better fighter out of him and stablemate, Anthony Yarde and more than willing to prove it in 2019.
Nathan Gorman will be back in the ring next month. The undefeated heavyweight had feared that he would be out of action until the new year after suffering a problem with his hand in his last fight. Gorman outpointed Kamil Sokolowski at the Brentwood Centre in October, exclusively live on BT Sport.
Frank Warren has made his first move of 2018 by adding Manchester’s Lyndon “King” Arthur (9-0, 7 KOs) to his stable. The news was confirmed on Warren’s website on New Year's Eve and it means that Arthur joins gym mate Zelfa Barrett as both boxers look ahead to a big year.
