Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport are delighted to announce that Luke Campbell MBE has signed a promotional deal with the company.

The signing of the 2012 Olympic Gold medalist was announced during a Tuesday press conference in central London. His pro debut will take place July 13 in his Hull hometown, on a show that features a regional title fight between Derry Mathews and Tommy Coyle.

Campbell now joins fellow former Team GB member, and captain, Tom Stalker on Matchroom's books and he is excited about the new challenge. "I have turned professional for one reason, and that's to be world champion," said Campbell, 25, when speaking to Sky Sports News.

"It was a difficult decision because I've been a part of Team GB for the last 12 years. This is a different chapter, I can't wait for this new journey to start.  My main focus now is training in the gym full-time to be the best I can be."

Campbell and Hearn will also hold a public press conference in the 25-year-old's hometown of Hull at 2:00PM on Wednesday in the City Hall.
